Ian devoted many years of service to Cochrane Castle Golf Club, where his commitment, leadership, and passion for the game earned him the great honour of serving as Honorary President. He was also widely admired throughout Renfrewshire golf for his valued contribution to the wider game and for the friendship and encouragement he offered to so many.

A true gentleman, Ian represented all that is best in golf — integrity, sportsmanship, and camaraderie. His warmth, wisdom, and generosity of spirit made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him, and his presence at the club will be deeply missed.

Ian leaves behind a proud legacy at Cochrane Castle Golf Club and within Renfrewshire golf. He will be remembered with great affection, respect, and gratitude. Our sincere condolences are extended to his family, friends, and all who knew him at this difficult time.

• I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Ian Storie.  He was such a lovely man.  I have been the Club Secretary at Bonnyton for 18 years and spoke with him many times and he was always available to help me if I had a problem.  He will be sorely missed.

  We are deeply saddened to hear of Ian’s passing. His dedication, commitment, and service to Cochrane Castle Golf Club and Renfrewshire Golf Union will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on both organisations. At such a difficult time, our thoughts are with Ian’s family, friends and all those at Cochrane Castle who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.
